New Non-Emergency Telephone Number

101 is a new 24hr telephone number provided by police and the local council in the Harborough and Lutterworth area to deal with community safety issues, including certain non-emergency crime, policing and anti-social behaviour.

Call 101 if you have problems with vandalism and graffiti, noise nusiance, threatening and abusive behaviour, abandoned vehicles, dumping and fly tipping, drunk and rowdy groups, drug related anti-social behaviour and broken street lighting.

You should continue to call 999 if violence is being used, there is a danger to life, a crime is in progress or offenders carrying out a crime have been recently disturbed, or there has been a traffic accident where people are injured or traffic is adversely affected.

Calls cost 10p from landline and mobile telephones and will be recorded for training, quality monitoring and public safety purposes.
